Ground states of a two - dimensional frustrated quantum antiferromagent Cs 2 CuC 14

چکیده
The properties of a frustrated quantum antiferromagnet are interesting topics in condensed matter theory. Among the quantum antiferromagnets, Cs2CuC14 gains attention as one of the candidates for materials with ground state spin liquid phase. The recent experimental results show that there exist several ground state phases in the presence of magnetic field which cannot be explained with classical Hamiltonian. In the thesis, I numerically studied the ground state of Cs2 CuC14 using a modified classical Hamiltonian, and I compared the result with previous experiments and classical analysis. The resulted magnetic phase diagram contains two phases, cone and ferromagnetic phase, which are separated by second order transition and a first order transition line for intermediate longitudinal field which ends up with a critical point. Frustrated Quantum Antiferromagnets: Application of High-order Coupled Cluster Method
We report on recent results for strongly frustrated quantum J1–J2 antiferromagnets in dimensionality d = 1, 2, 3 obtained by the coupled cluster method (CCM). We demonstrate that the CCM in high orders of approximation allows us to investigate quantum phase transitions driven by frustration and to discuss novel quantum ground states. In detail we consider the ground-state properties of (i) the ...
متن کاملValence Bond Ground States in a Frustrated Two-Dimensional Spin-1/2 Heisenberg Antiferromagnet
We study a class of two-dimensional spin-1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnets, introduced by Klein [1], in which the nearest-neighbor term is supplemented by next-nearest-neighbor pair and four-body interactions, producing additional frustration. For certain lattices, including e.g. the hexagonal lattice, we prove that any finite subset which admits a dimer covering has a ground state space spanned ...

The ground state energies of two interacting electrons confined in a coupled double quantum dot (DQD) presented in a magnetic field has been calculated by solving the relative Hamiltonian using variational and exact diagonalization methods. The singlet-triplet transitions in the angular momentum and spin of the quantum dot ground state had been shown .We have studied the magnetic field versus c...

متن کاملQuantum phase transitions in frustrated two-dimensional antiferromagnets
We study frustrated, two-dimensional, quantum antiferromagnets in the vicinity of a quantum transition from a non-collinear, magnetically-ordered ground state to a quantum disordered phase. The general scaling properties of this transition are described. A detailed study of a particular field-theoretic model of the transition, with bosonic spin-1/2 spinon fields, is presented. Explicit universa...
